2x NBA All-Star Signs With Western Conference Contender

The Phoenix Suns have a new point guard.

It's been a long journey for 2x NBA All-Star Isaiah Thomas to get back into the league, but it looks like he found a new home.

According to a report from Shams Charania, Isaiah Thomas is signing a 10-day contract with the Phoenix Suns. This season, Thomas has been playing on the Salt Lake City G League team, where he averaged 33 points a game.

The last NBA team that Isaiah Thomas played for was the Charlotte Hornets during the 2021-22 season. He averaged 8.3 points, 1.4 assists, and 1.2 rebounds on 43/40/93 shooting in 17 games. It's been nearly two seasons since Thomas has last played in the NBA and the Phoenix Suns are now giving him a chance.

It's interesting to see the Phoenix Suns acquire Thomas of all teams since they're not in a position to experiment before a serious playoff push. Their current point guard is a mixture of Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, Damion Lee, and Grayson Allen. They don't necessarily have a true point guard, and while some could consider Thomas that, he's a scoring first guard. Regardless, the team must see some kind of need with Thomas and hopefully, he can respond by resurrecting his NBA career with the team.

The Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns face off one final time this season on March 27. The regular season series is currently 2-1 in favor of the Nuggets.
