The Pacers battle the Knicks on Saturday night

The Indiana Pacers host the New York Knicks on Saturday in the final game of the calendar year 2023 for both teams. It's their first meeting of the current season.

The Knicks have lost two-straight games while the Pacers have won two in a row. New York is a half game ahead of Indiana in the standings — they are 17-14 while the Pacers are 16-14. The winner of Saturday's game will end the night higher in the standings.

"I'm excited," Pacers star guard Tyrese Haliburton said of the game earlier this week. "Last year, they took care of us... just want to handle it the right way, come out and compete."

Pacers vs Knicks Injury Report

For the Pacers, Bruce Brown (right knee bone bruise) is out. Isaiah Jackson (right fifth finger hairline fracture) is questionable. Kendall Brown, Oscar Tshiebwe, and Isaiah Wong are questionable as a part of their two-way contracts.

The Knicks are on a back to back, so they have not yet submitted an injury report. They were without Mitchell Robinson and Jericho Sims due to injury Friday night while Jacob Toppin and Charlie Brown Jr were inactive.

Key Matchup

Tyrese Haliburton vs Jalen Brunson: Two excellent point guards will face off as Brunson and Haliburton run the show for their teams. The two became great friends this summer while playing for Team USA in the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Haliburton said on Thursday that he's looking forward to the matchup. The Pacers star is averaging 24.7 points and 12.4 assists per game while Brunson averages 25.8 points and 6.0 assists per game.
