Pelicans, Ibotta Open Computer Lab for HANO Residents

Pelicans' Ibotta platform helps with upgrades to the Fischer Senior Community Center computer lab allows residents to access essential resources

NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans Pelicans and cash back rewards platform, Ibotta, have followed up their donation to HANO (Housing Authority of New Orleans), which provided nearly 100 New Orleans families with grocery items before the 2022 Thanksgiving Holiday, with a brand new, revamped computer lab at Fischer Senior Community Center.

“When we arrived at Fischer Senior Community Center for our Thanksgiving food distribution event in November, it was brought to our attention by a HANO staff member that the community center was in need of a computer lab revamp,” said New Orleans Pelicans Sr. Director of Community & Government Relations, Julie Borsch. “Our good friends at Ibotta were eager to partner with us on helping bring the idea of an updated computer lab to the Fischer community, and we are thrilled to see how this new technology will help the residents of the community moving forward.”

"Our partnership with the Pelicans continues to give us opportunities to make a positive impact in the communities we both serve. This computer lab is the latest example of how the Pelicans are teaming up with Ibotta to provide long-term access to critical services," said Bryan Leach, founder and CEO, Ibotta. "As a technology company that gives people cash back on their everyday purchases, we understand that access to technology often means access to resources. We are proud to be affiliated with an organization that also gives back every day."

“We would like to thank the New Orleans Pelicans and Ibotta for their investment into the computer lab refurbishment at our Fischer Community Center,” said HANO Executive Director Evette Hester. “The refurbishment of computers will support our Fischer families who have technology needs in a whole host of areas from submitting applications, to educational courses, and online learning opportunities. The possibilities for positive outcomes for our families are endless and we thank the Pelicans and Ibotta for their generous contribution.”
