Pelicans Coach Willie Green Discloses The Reason Zion Williamson Left The NBA Play-In Game During Crunch Time

Pelicans head coach discloses the the initial reason for Zion Williamson's departure.

"Right now, we know his left leg soreness," New Orleans Pelicans coach Willie Green told the media. "He's going to get imaging on it tomorrow, and we'll figure out more. That's the report that I got back...we'll see what happens tomorrow after we get the results back. "

Williamson was upset before leaving the bench headed to the locker room.

Zion Williamson left the contest with 3 minutes remaining after scoring 40 points and grabbing 11 rebounds with five assists, a block, and one steal against the Los Angeles Lakers.

New Orleans lost to Los Angeles, 110-106, in the NBA Play-In Tournament game at the Smoothie King Center. The Lakers advance to the first round of the NBA Playoffs to meet the reigning champions, Denver Nuggets. The Pelicans await to host the winner of the Kings-Warriors NBA Play-In Tourney match.
