Zion Williamson's Injury Will Prevent Him From Playing In The Pelicans-Kings NBA Play-In Elimination Game

New Orleans received a medical update concerning Zion Williamson's left hamstring injury.

NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans Pelicans have confirmed that Zion Williamson has a left hamstring strain.

Following an MRI on Wednesday morning, Williamson's condition will be re-evaluated in two weeks, leaving his return to the court as murky as the Mississippi River.

The injury will prevent Williamson from playing against Sacramento in the NBA Play-In Tournament elimination game this Friday night.

During Monday night's loss to the Lakers, the Pelicans star forward contributed 40 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, a steal, and one block in the loss to the Lakers.

New Orleans won all five games against the Kings during the 2023-24 regular season, with Williamson missing only the Jan. 7th game in Sacramento. The Pelicans won the match 133-100, with CJ McCollum scoring a game-high 30 points.
