Zion Williamson Attended Church Services in New Orleans

New Orleans Pelicans star power forward Zion Williamson is officially back in the city of New Orleans.

New Orleans Pelicans star power forward Zion Williamson is officially back in New Orleans.

He attended a church service at the Fifth Baptist Church in uptown New Orleans and stood for photographs with the church's members.

According to reporters William Guillory and Sham Charania, Zion Williamson returned to resume basketball activities monitored by the New Orleans Pelicans organization.

Williamson was in Portland, Oregon undergoing rehabilitation on his broken right foot. He suffered a setback in December but received an injection into the bone to help promote healing. He will continue his workouts and regain his strength for the Pelicans during this playoff race for the play-in game.

New Orleans is in Denver for a critical Western Conference showdown with the Nuggets. LeBron James scored 56 points as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Warriors.

The Pelicans (No. 10) sit one game behind the Lakers (No. 9) in the regular season.

Suppose he clears medical evaluation for full participation and coach Green deems Zion capable of handling several important minutes per game; his presence can benefit the Pelicans for the stretch run.
