Jason Kidd Praises Pistons Star Cade Cunningham

Mavericks coach praises Pistons star ahead of Saturday's matchup.

Since the All-Star break, Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham has been on an impressive run. His string of performances has been so impressive that people around the league are starting to take notice.

Coming off their win over the Brooklyn Nets, the Detroit Pistons were back in action Saturday night. Next up on the schedule was a meeting the Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks

Before the game, Mavs coach Jason Kidd was asked about Cunningham's play as of late. The Hall of Fame point guard had nothing but praise for the former No. 1 pick.

“You look at what Cade’s doing right now, he’s one of the hottest players in the 2nd half of this season," Kidd said pregame. "He’s shooting the ball at a high rate. He’s scoring the ball. He’s being aggressive. You can see he's comfortable with what he’s trying to get to."

Cunningham ended up living up to this praise, going toe-to-toe with Doncic in this matchup. In 32 minutes of action, he finished just shy of a triple-double. Cunningham posted a stat line of 33 points, nine rebounds, and 10 assists.

Despite this impressive performance, the Pistons were not able to stay in the win column against Dallas. Led by a triple-double from Doncic, the Mavs walked out with a 142-124 win.

Since the All-Star break, Cunningham has been one of the most impressive performers in the NBA. His averages since the week off sit at 24.9 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and 7.6 APG.

Cunningham and the Pistons will look to get back on track Monday against the Charlotte Hornets
