Raptors Could Miss Standout Guard vs. Detroit Pistons on Wednesday
UPDATE: Immanuel Quickley has been upgraded to AVAILABLE against the Pistons.
Wednesday night could mark the second-straight absence for Toronto Raptors guard Immanuel Quickley.
As the Raptors are set to pay a visit to the Detroit Pistons, they are facing numerous absences. Quickley, who has been on the injury report since March 11, is questionable on Wednesday as he battles a left hip flexor strain.
This season, Quickly became a key member of the Raptors after getting shipped up North from the New York Knicks. As the Knicks looked to acquire Toronto’s former two-way standout, OG Anunoby, Quickley found himself as a key player in the deal.
Back on January 1, Quickley made his Raptors debut. As expected, he was an immediate starter on a rebuilding Raptors team after spending every game with the Knicks this season coming off the bench.
In 29 games with Toronto this year, Quickley averaged 34 minutes on the court. During that stretch, the former Knicks standout produced 18 points per game while shooting 42 percent from the field overall. From deep, Quickley averages 42 percent while attempting seven threes per game.
Quickley has yet to face the Pistons since he became a member of the Raptors. Although he was technically a member of the Raptors during Detroit’s December 30 battle at home against Toronto, Quickley hadn’t made his debut with the team just yet.
The last time Quickley took on the Pistons was during the Knicks’ November 30 battle at Madison Square Garden. At the time, Quickley came off the bench for 19 minutes and struggled with his shot as he knocked down just two of his ten field goals.
The Pistons and the Raptors will battle it out at 7 PM ET on Wednesday. Quickley’s status remains in the air as he’ll likely be considered a game time decision.
