Chris Paul is joining the Golden State Warriors.

The Washington Wizards have reportedly sent Paul to Golden State for Jordan Poole and draft pick compensation, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The deal has been agreed upon ahead of Thursday’s NBA Draft.

Paul had been dealt to the Wizards earlier this month in a blockbuster deal in which Bradley Beal was sent to the Phoenix Suns. Phoenix had reportedly been considering waiving Paul but was able to negotiate a deal to offload his contract before his contract was guaranteed.

Poole’s value appears to have taken a considerable hit following a lackluster season and in Year 1 of his four-year, $128 million contract. He had been viewed as a valuable young rotation player for the Warriors, but Golden State appears to have been willing to part with the 24-year-old without receiving a haul in return.

The Toronto Raptors had reportedly spoken to the Warriors about moving down in the draft to acquire the No. 19, according to Yahoo’s Jake Fischer.

Toronto will head into the draft with the No. 13 pick. Washington sits ahead of them at No. 8.
