DeAndre Williams may not be considered a top prospect in this year’s NBA Draft, but the Toronto Raptors aren’t going to let a potential undrafted free agent go unscouted.

The 26-year-old fifth-year senior out of Memphis worked out for Toronto this week, according to his Instagram in which he thanked the Raptors for the opportunity.

Williams is a 6-foot-9, 205-pound forward who began his collegiate career in Evansville before transferring to Memphis for his final three seasons. He averaged 17.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.5 steals per game this past season while shooting 53% from the floor and 40% from behind the arc, albeit on just two attempts per game.

Most mock drafts do not have Williams projected to be selected, but it’s possible Toronto sees him as a potential undrafted free agent or G League fit for the team. He could join the Raptors on an Exhibit 10 deal during training camp or clinch one of the team’s three two-way spots for this season.

The Raptors have previously said they like to bring in as many prospects as possible during the pre-draft period because it’s a rare opportunity to interview and analyze players that they wouldn’t normally have an opportunity to speak to.
