The Toronto Raptors continue to be at the forefront of offseason trade talks with Tyler Herro’s name popping up as a potential target.

Toronto has reportedly expressed “exploratory interest” in acquiring the 23-year-old guard in a multi-team deal with the Miami Heat and Portland Trail Blazers, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. The deal would likely see Herro join the Raptors with outgoing assets heading to Portland to facilitate a Damian Lillard-to-the-Heat trade.

The Raptors, however, have already traded their 2024 first-round pick and cannot move their first-round picks in 2025 or 2026 and are limited to a pick swap in 2027.

Herro, who averaged 20.1 points, 4.2 assists, and shot 37.8% from three-point range last season, is set to begin a four-year, $120 million deal this season. He’s due $27 million this year, approximately 20% of the salary cap. Any deal for Herro would require Toronto to part ways with Pascal Siakam, Gary Trent Jr., O.G. Anunoby, or Chris Boucher in order to match salaries.

The Brooklyn Nets and Utah Jazz have also been linked to Herro, per Scotto.

The Trail Blazers are said to not be interested in acquiring Herro in a deal for Lillard and would prefer to move him elsewhere for other assets.
