Report: Raptors Center Under Investigation Related to Gambling Irregularities

Toronto Raptors center Jontay Porter is being looked into following a series of unusual betting activity

Jontay Porter is under investigation by the NBA.

The Toronto Raptors center is reportedly being looked into following the discovery of betting irregularities connected to Porter, ESPN reported Monday.

Porter has been away from the team for personal reasons and will not play Monday night against the Brooklyn Nets.

The investigation stems from increased betting on prop bets related to Porter on DraftKings Sportsbook, ESPN reported. The bets in question took place on Jan. 26 and March 20 in which there was increased activity on bets involving Porter.

Porter played just four minutes on Jan. 26 against the Los Angeles Clippers and exited the game early with a re-aggrevated eye injury. The unders were cashed successfully that night.

"The next day, as part of a daily report to users on betting results, DraftKings Sportsbook reported that the under on Porter's 3-pointers was the biggest money winner for bettors of any NBA player props from games that evening," ESPN reported.

On March 20, Porter again exited early due to an illness and did not score against the Sacramento Kings. The unders were again cashed successfully.

"The next day, DraftKings SportsBooks reported to its users that Porter's prop bets were the No. 1 moneymaker from the night in the NBA," ESPN reported.

Porter has played in 26 games for the Raptors this season.
