Raptors Share Update on Immanuel Quickley & RJ Barrett

The Toronto Raptors say RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley are working their way back following personal absences

RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley are nearing a return.

Both players had their status updated by the Toronto Raptors on Monday as "return to competitive conditioning" as they work their way back from lengthy personal absences.

Barrett has returned to be with the team following a six-game absence following the death of his younger brother Nathan. The team has given no official timetable for when he'll return.

As for Quickley, he too has been away tending to a family matter for the last four games. There is no official timeline for his return either.

Toronto has been forced to make do without the two starters, relying on Javon Freeman-Liberty and Gradey Dick to slide into the starting lineup with the two sidelined.

It's possible the Raptors will have Quickley and Barrett back on Wednesday when their former team the New York Knicks come to town. If not Wednesday, Toronto has three days off between games before playing the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday.

The Raptors have lost six straight games without without Barrett and are amid a 10-game losing streak since Scottie Barnes and Jakob Poeltl went down with hand injuries.

Toronto acquired Barrett and Quickley from New York in exchange for OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa, and Malachi Flynn back in late December.

Barrett had appeared in 27 games for Toronto, averaging 20.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, and four assists per game.

Quickley had played in 32 games for the Raptors, averaging 17.7 points and 6.6 assists per game while shooting 39.7% from three-point range.
