Raptors Share Positive Update on RJ Barrett's Status for Sunday

The Toronto Raptors have listed RJ Barrett as questionable to play Sunday vs the Philadelphia 76ers

RJ Barrett is nearing a return.

The Toronto Raptors forward is now listed as questionable to play Sunday evening against the Philadelphia 76ers, the team announced. It's the first time he's been listed as such since his younger brother Nathan passed away earlier this month.

Barrett participated in practice with the team Friday and has been working on getting his conditioning back up to game level. If he can't play Sunday, he should be ready to go on Tuesday when the Los Angeles Lakers come to town.

Immanuel Quickley remains away from the team and was not seen at practice on Friday. He's been ruled out as he too works his way back from a personal absence.

Toronto did get positive news on Ochai Agbaji's right hip injury, but he's going to miss at least one game. MRIs and X-rays came back clean, but Agbaji was quite sore Friday, Raptors coach Darko Rajaković said, and has been ruled out.

Scottie Barnes and Jakob Poeltl are both working their way back from injury, but have yet to be cleared. Barnes was seen doing dribbling drills with both hands on Friday but is unlikely to be fully ready to return this season.

Chris Boucher and DJ Carton remain sidelined with injuries while Jontay Porter is away from the team as the NBA continues to investigate unusual betting activities surrounding the Raptors backup center.

Mouhamadou Gueye is Toronto's only other questionable player with his status up-in-the-air due to an illness.

The Philadelphia 76ers have yet to release their injury report for Sunday.
