Raptors Planning to Rest Starting Guard vs. Pacers

The Toronto Raptors are giving Immanuel Quickley the night off Tuesday when the Indiana Pacers come to town

The Toronto Raptors are giving Immanuel Quickley the night off Tuesday.

The 24-year-old point guard will be out for "rest" when Toronto plays its final home game of the season against the Indiana Pacers, the Raptors announced. Quickley will likely just miss one game and be available Wednesday for the second game of Toronto's back-to-back in Brooklyn.

It wouldn't be surprising if Kelly Olynyk and RJ Barrett are given the night off Wednesday in Brooklyn as the Raptors try to take it easy on some of their more veteran players. Both players missed the second half of Toronto's last back-to-back in Minnesota.

Gradey Dick has been listed as questionable with a right groin contusion that forced him to leave Sunday's game early. He was "still sore" on Monday, Raptors coach Darko Rajaković said.

Neither Scottie Barnes or Jakob Poeltl have a timeline for a return this season, though it's hard to believe either will make it back before the end of the season.

Barnes was doing some training work following Monday's practice and appeared to be using both hands as he works his way back from surgery on his left hand. He was shooting and dribbling without limitations despite a bandage on his left hand.

Poeltl looks a little bit further behind Barnes and was not seen doing any dribbling or shooting with his ailing left hand. He was taking free throws exclusively with his right hand following practice.

Bruce Brown Jr. and Gary Trent Jr. both came out of Sunday's game without any issues and are not listed on the injury report against Indiana.
