Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun has brought a multivariate attack to an otherwise struggling franchise, leading many to believe he has stardom written all over his future.

Bleacher Report included him in a short list of players they see developing into full-fledged stars, saying:

"No 20-year-old center had ever posted an assist rate north of 20.0 percent until Şengün this season. And while inviting the direct comparison is unfair, Şengün's per-36 numbers in his age-20 campaign stack up awfully well against [Nikola] Jokić's. Şengün is putting up 18.4 points, 10.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists per 36 with a 59.9 true shooting percentage on 21.4 percent usage.

Jokić, at 20, produced 16.5 points, 11.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists per 36 minutes with a 58.2 true shooting percentage on 19.9 percent usage."

Comparisons to Jokic are not premature. Sengun finds ways to be productive despite not being the most athletic player on the floor. He has stellar footwork and feel for the game and scores his 14.7 points per game on 55.4 percent shooting from the field.

Sengun shies away from the three-point line -- a facet of his game he will have to nurture if he wants to join the upper crust of NBA centers -- but makes up for it with strong inside play and the ability to put the ball down and get to his spots, even if adagio at times.

An increased role on the Rockets is what it will take for the Turkish second-year player to increase his stats while ideally contributing to more wins. His efficiency rate projects his per 36 minutes averages to be 18.4 points, 10.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game this year -- numbers that are sure to garner All-Star and All-NBA consideration should they materialize in the coming seasons.
