Could Bulls Veteran Andre Drummond Fix Rockets' Big Man Problem?

The trade deadline is quickly approaching, so if the Houston Rockets are going to make a move for a big man, now is the time.

The Houston Rockets have had some trouble with their big men so far this season, as the team's centers leave a bit to be desired. To fix that problem, the Rockets could look to target a big man in the trade market.

According to senior NBA reporter Jake Fischer, the Rockets are interested in acquiring veteran center Andre Drummond from the Chicago Bulls. This could fix one of the team's problems this season and could push them over the edge.

While Alperen Sengun has been great so far this season, averaging 22 points and nine rebounds per game, the Rockets other centers could improve. The only two centers on the roster aside from Sengun are Boban Marjanović and Jock Landale, and while they can get the job done, Drummond could contribute more to the team.

Drummond has been in the NBA for 12 years and has led the league in rebounding four separate times, making him one of six players all time to have multiple rebounding titles.

Having a veteran presence like Drummond at the backup center position could have a calming effect on the team. The 30-year-old is only averaging 16 minutes per game this season but is still grabbing almost nine rebounds per contest.

If the Rockets are going to make a move, now is the time to do it, as the trade deadline is today at 2 p.m. If the team was to trade for a big man like Drummond, it could improve Houston immediately and help them make some noise in the second half of the season.

As for the Rockets next game, it will be on Friday against the new-look Toronto Raptors. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. at Scotiabank Arena.
