Report: Rockets 'Kicking Tires' On Nets' Mikal Bridges And Cam Johnson

The Houston Rockets have shown interest in Nets' Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline.

HOUSTON — Before the end of the NBA trade deadline Thursday afternoon, Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson could be on the move again. According to the Athletic, the Houston Rockets are among the teams "kicking the tires" on the possibility of landing Bridges and Johnson from the Brooklyn Nets.

Bridges and Johnson were a part of the blockbuster trade that sent Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns late Wednesday night. The Suns' deal with the Nets included Jae Crowder and four unprotected future first-round picks. The Suns also received T.J. Warren.

Crowder was later traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for five second-round picks.

The Nets are hitting the reset button on their franchise, which means several players, including Bridges and Johnson, could be on the move.

Should the Rockets add Bridges, Houston would add needed talent on the defensive end. He finished as the runner-up in Defensive Player of the Year last season. And due to several injuries, Bridges expanded his scoring average to 17.2 points per game this season with the Suns.

Johnson, an inconsistent defensive player, can lift the Rockets' subpar 3-point shooting. He is averaging 13.9 points on 45.5 percent shooting from deep.
