Houston Rockets vs. Washington Wizards Preview: How to Watch, Injury Reports, Lineups, More

The Houston Rockets will continue their late-season push toward the Play-In Tournament amid an interconference match against the Washington Wizards.

HOUSTON -- The Houston Rockets (30-35) have found a late-season groove, which has resulted in the team winning five of their previous six games. And Thursday night, the Rockets will be in a great position to extend their winning streak to four during an interconference match against the Washington Wizards (11-54).

The Rockets held on for a 103-101 victory over the San Antonio Spurs Tuesday night. The win was a testament to the Rockets' resilience amid San Antonio's fourth-quarter comeback attempt. But more importantly, Houston's play showcased its renowned defense against Victor Wembanyama.

The presumed Rookie of the Year winner had another subpar performance against Houston, as he finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.

Wembanyama's performance marked his third consecutive game of playing against Houston, where he failed to score 20 or more points. A massive role in the Rockets' successful defense against Wembanyama was due to the production of Dillon Brooks.

"I love guarding the best players," Brooks said. "He brings a unique game to the game of basketball; just playing a little bit more physical and getting under him. Limiting his roles to the rim. Not letting him get second-chance points."

The Wizards are entering the Toyota Center with the league's worst record. They have dropped 17 of their previous 19 games.

Rockets forward Dillon Brooks (9) argues a foul call with an official during the second half against the San Antonio Spurs at Frost Bank Center.
