WATCH: Rockets Jalen Green, Fred VanVleet Training Together As Teammates

Houston Rockets guards Jalen Green and Fred VanVleet wasted no time training together as teammates.

HOUSTON — The Houston Rockets free agency signing of Fred VanVleet is not official, but that has not stopped the veteran point guard from working out with his new teammate.

In a recent social media post published by performance coach Mike Guevara, VanVleet spent Monday afternoon in Los Angeles working out alongside teammate Jalen Green.

The video showcased the guards training with a medicine ball, while enhancing their speed and agility with ladder drills and wind sprints. The end of the video illustrated an exhausted VanVleet stating, "Day 1. Good Day. Monday is every day."

VanVleet and the Rockets agreed upon a three-year deal worth $130 million Friday evening. The signing officially ended his seven-year tenure with the Toronto Raptors.

VanVleet began his career in Toronto in 2016 after going undrafted. He became an All-Star in 2022. But his most significant role came in 2019 when he helped the Raptors win their first and only NBA championship.

The 6-foot-0 guard has averaged 14.6 points on 40.2 percent shooting from the field, 5.3 assists and 1.3 steals across 417 career games. VanVleet helped the Raptors sweep the Rockets during their two-game regular season series in 2022-23 by averaging 32.0 points on .458/.444/.889 shooting splits.

Coach Guevara is the co-owner of GBG Hoops and has trained with several players around the league, including Anthony Davis, Spencer Dinwiddie and Jrue Holiday.
