Jalen Green Leads Rockets to Second Consecutive Road Win Over Trail Blazers

Jalen Green came up huge in the third quarter, which led to the Houston Rockets taking a 123-107 victory over the Trail Blazers.

After sustaining a disappointing defeat to the Los Angeles Clippers Wednesday night, the Houston Rockets bounced back during a 123-107 victory against the Portland Trail Blazers inside the Moda Center.

The Rockets ended a five-game losing streak against the Trail Blazers while winning back-to-back road games for the first time this season.

Jalen Green put on a show against the Trail Blazers. He finished the game with a team-best 27 points on 11 of 19 shooting from the field, 4 of 9 from behind the arc. He put the team on his back during the third period, and his production led to Houston's sixth road victory of the year.

Green scored 13 of the Rockets' 32 points during the period. The momentum Green established in the quarter was the spark to help Houston overcome a 63-55 halftime deficit. The third-year guard from G League Ignite has now scored 15 or more points in six consecutive games.

The highlight of the night came at the 9:18 mark of the third quarter when Green completed a one-hand dunk over the top of Trail Blazers' guard Anfernee Simons.

In addition to Green, six players scored in double-figures for the Rockets. Alperen Şengün followed his back-to-back career performances with 19 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Fred VanVleet added 18 points and 10 assists.

The rookie duo of Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore also played a significant role in the win. Thompson recorded 16 points, eight rebounds, five blocks and two steals. Whitmore added 13 points and eight rebounds.

The Blazers were led by Dalano Banton with a career-high 30 points, while Simons added 23 points on 7 of 14 shooting from the field in the loss. Portland has now dropped their ninth consecutive home game following their loss to Houston.
