The Rockets waived forward Ryan Anderson on Monday, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania

Anderson signed a non-guaranteed deal with Houston prior to the 2019-20 season, but the 31-year-old failed to crack Mike D'Antoni's rotation through 13 games. Anderson has logged just 14 minutes this season, and he has not played since Nov. 3 despite injuries to forward Danuel House and center Clint Capela.

2019-20 marked Anderson's second stint with Houston after two years with the organization from 2016-18. Anderson averaged 11.6 points per game with the Rockets, shooting a combined 39.6% across two seasons. The Rockets traded Anderson and his four-year, $80 million contract to the Suns in a salary-dump deal in August 2018.

Houston doesn't have any "imminent" plans to fill Anderson's roster spot, per the Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feigen. The open spot could go to rookie guard Chris Clemons when his two-way contract expires after 45 days with the Rockets.
