San Antonio Spurs Ex Josh Primo Signs Standard Deal with Los Angeles Clippers

Josh Primo could soon make his return to the NBA with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Former San Antonio Spurs guard Josh Primo is taking another step towards his NBA return.

According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, the Los Angeles Clippers are signing Primo to a standard deal after he was on a two-way deal. In a corresponding move, the team is signing Xavier Moon to a two-way contract.

The move comes after it was announced that Primo would face a four-game suspension for "conduct detrimental" to the NBA.

The Spurs shockingly waived Primo on Oct. 28 last season prior to an evening matchup with the Chicago Bulls. The move hit Spurs fans like a truck, as the team had just selected Primo with the No. 12 overall pick the year prior.

However, it was later revealed that Primo had reportedly been inappropriately exposing himself to women, most notably Dr. Hillary Cauthen, a former psychologist for the organization. She filed a lawsuit against the Spurs and Primo, which was settled later that November.

"Primo – the 12th pick in the 2021 NBA draft has been undergoing therapy and was suspended for four games due to conduct detrimental after league investigation “found that Primo engaged in inappropriate and offensive behavior by exposing himself to women," Charania tweeted.

And in some recent clips, Primo was seen scrimmaging with some top NBA talent, essentially showing that he's got sights set on a potential return to the league. He was playing in a game alongside guys like Sacramento Kings guards Davion Mitchell and Kevin Huerter, Detroit Pistons guards Cade Cunningham and Ausar Thompson, Golden State Warriors big man Kevon Looney and many more.

Spurs YouTuber, Clan The Spurs Fan, was one of the first to point out Primo's easy-to-miss inclusion in the video of the pickup game. He also shared some recent workout footage from Primo.

In 54 games with the Spurs, Primo averaged 5.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists on 37.2 percent shooting in 19.6 minutes per game. Now, he is officially on the Clippers roster with a chance to start a new chapter.
