For their last “home game” of the season, the San Antonio Spurs face the play-in-guaranteed Minnesota Timberwolves at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.

The last time these two teams played each other, the Spurs succeeded as the underdog. However, that game came in October; the league seems to have changed 100 times since. With multiple trades to San Antonio’s roster and a clear shift to focusing on the rebuild, Saturday’s matchup feels like a new game.

Despite the odds stacked against the Spurs, Minnesota tends to soil itself at the worst time. Against the tanking Portland Trail Blazers, without Damian Lillard, the Timberwolves lost. Going in a 19.5-point favorite, the Timberwolves made history by suffering the worst loss against the spread since 1995.

Minnesota poses no significant threat, even in the most advantageous scenario. Still, considering the Spurs’ piled-on injury report, victories don't come easy when more than half of your team is enduring an injury or an ailment.
