NBA Power Rankings: Spurs Sliding Despite Win vs. Suns?

The San Antonio Spurs snapped a three-game losing streak after beating the Phoenix Suns. Where does that put them in this week's power rankings?

The San Antonio Spurs are continuing to scrap through the final stage of their season as they prepare to sit on the couch for another postseason.

Expectations haven't been high for the Spurs at all this season, but that creates opportunities for growth. And one of those came on Monday night after a 104-102 win against the Phoenix Suns.

Despite the win, it wasn't enough to prevent a fall in CBS Sports' latest power rankings. The Spurs clocked in at No. 26 after placing at No. 24 last week.

"Entering Monday night, the Spurs had one win this season without Victor Wembanyama," CBS Sports writes. "Now they have two -- and the second came against the Kevin Durant-Devin Booker-Bradley Beal led Suns *shrug*. Jeremy Sochan hit the game-winning 3-pointer while San Antonio held the prolific Phoenix offense to just 102 points."

The Spurs will have more chances to play spoiler against playoff teams as the season wraps up over the next few weeks, and that will evoke more growth to lead into the offseason.

The Spurs will take a one-game road trip to Salt Lake City to face the Utah Jazz tomorrow night before returning home to host the New York Knicks on Friday and the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.
