Spurs Players React to Winning Lottery, Victor Wembanyama Sweepstakes: 'Bonjour!'

Both current and former San Antonio Spurs players were clearly watching the lottery results closely on Tuesday knowing that Victor Wembanyama awaits as the top prize.

The San Antonio Spurs essentially had their franchise trajectory do a complete 180 overnight on Tuesday after winning the 2023 NBA Draft Lottery and the right to draft generational prospect Victor Wembanyama with the No. 1 overall pick next month.

Current Spurs players were clearly watching the lottery results closely knowing the potential prize that awaited. And once it became official that San Antonio would be selecting first, some of the team's biggest names took to social media to share their excitement.

Spurs standout guard Devin Vassell didn't name Wembanyama directly since he's not officially on the team yet, but tweeted a simple "GSG" with a black heart attached the following morning.

On the other hand, the always-quirky Jeremy Sochan shouted out Wembanyama indirectly with a tweet in French.

"Bonjour, Je m'appelle Jeremy! Et toi?" Sochan tweeted, which translates to "Hello, my name is Jeremy! And you?"

Spurs guard Tre Jones kept it simple with the classic eyes emoji, which usually always fits the situation when something interesting happens.

Point guard Devonte' Graham didn't tweet out anything directly, but retweeted a video from the Spurs official Twitter that showed fans driving around downtown San Antonio honking their car horns in celebration.

Once Wembanyama officially becomes a member of the Spurs, the reactions from both former and current Spurs will likely be even more abundant,

The 2023 NBA Draft will take place on Thursday, June 22 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
