Fresh off of their "best win" of the season against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the San Antonio Spurs geared up once again, this time hosting a familiar Eastern-Conference opponent.

The struggling Washington Wizards — the current home of Spurs potential trade target Kyle Kuzma — headed to Frost Bank Center with an upset in mind after San Antonio took a win from them a few games back, and through the effort, it paid enough. The Spurs gave up a late lead to ultimately fall 118-113 at home.

Victor Wembanyama did his thing once again, notching a 20-point double-double to complement Devin Vassell's 20 points as the duo helped San Antonio keep the Wizards at bay, but their efforts just weren't enough.

For Washington, six double-digit performances did the trick. Kyle Kuzma, Marvin Bagley III, Tyus Jones, Jordan Poole, Daniel Gafford and Bilal Coulibaly all notched North of 10 points to help push their team over the edge.

Both teams back-and-forth all night, though it was San Antonio which held control of the game for the most part ... until the very end of the game.

A 10-point lead didn't hold, despite the squad's best efforts, as Washington battled back late to secure a 118-113 victory over its hosts.

With the loss, the Spurs fall to 10-37 on the year. Now, they'll set their sights on hosting the Orlando Magic at home, looking to gain some momentum and start a win streak.

Tipoff from Frost Bank Center is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST Wednesday.
