Kevin Durant, Devin Booker Mentioned in MVP Consideration

The Phoenix Suns' duo of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker both saw their names land in ESPN's MVP voting.

The Phoenix Suns currently house some of the best players in the league, as Kevin Durant and Devin Booker are both considered to be elite at their position. The addition of Bradley Beal over the summer formed arguably the top trio in the league, and the mass amount of strongly talented veterans signed in free agency gives hope the title is theirs for the taking.

With such a vast amount of talent, it'd be incredibly difficult for anybody in Phoenix to bring home the league's MVP award - though it's not impossible.

In ESPN's voting for each major award ahead of the 2023-24 season, both Durant and Booker finished fairly high with a handful of votes swinging their way. Their panel of experts awarded five points for first place, three points for second place and one point for third place.

The results unfolded as such:

1. Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets: 77 points (42.3% of first-place votes)

2. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks: 58 points (23.1%)

3. Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks: 31 points (11.5%)

4. Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics: 13 points (7.7%)

5. Joel Embiid, Philadelphia 76ers: 12 points

6. Kevin Durant, Phoenix Suns: 11 points (3.8%)

T-7. Devin Booker, Phoenix Suns: 7 points (3.8%)

T-7. Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors: 7 points

8. Jimmy Butler, Miami Heat: 6 points

T-9. Anthony Edwards, Minnesota Timberwolves: 5 points (3.8%)

T-9. Kawhi Leonard, LA Clippers: 5 points (3.8%)

T-10. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder: 1 point

T-10. Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers: 1 point

Durant previously won the league's MVP award back in 2014 while Booker himself hasn't reached the honor. The duo does however combine for 13 All-NBA nods.
