Best Bets for Suns-Pelicans

Here's the two best bets for tonight's action between the Phoenix Suns and New Orleans Pelicans.

PHOENIX -- Both the Phoenix Suns and New Orleans Pelicans approach tonight having won their last eight-of-eleven games, pinning the battle in the Bayou has an important one for both sides in the Western Conference playoff picture.

Here's tonight's best bets for Suns-Pelicans:

Trend of the Game Pick: Pelicans -2 (1 Unit)

On Tuesday night, the Suns stole a victory after heading into the final quarter with a 12-point deficit. A miraculous win, no doubt, but typically a high that is hard to successfully come down off of.

Since 2021, all NBA teams following this situation have gone 5-14 straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS).

Since Kevin Durant joined the team, Phoenix has trailed at halftime by 11-points or more on seven different occasions. In the following games, the Suns have gone 1-6 SU and ATS.

Of those seven games, just one time were the Suns able to overcome the deficit and win, similar to Tuesday’s game. In the game following the comeback effort, Phoenix lost outright to the Portland Trail Blazers as seven-point favorites.

The Suns have also not fared well as road underdogs with 2 or more days of rest since Durant’s arrival. They sport the same win-loss and ATS record as the previous trend (1-6).

This indicates we will be backing the New Orleans Pelicans to win by a bucket and the foul.

Player Prop: CJ McCollum OVER 27.5 Points/Reb/Assists (.75 Units)

CJ McCollum has been an issue for the Suns for almost a decade now. The former Blazer averages almost 22 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds against Phoenix.

McCollum has run point for the Pelicans six times against the Suns and his PRA (points+rebounds+assists) for each contest has been: 37, 40, 30, 28, 35, 42.

He’s cleared this line in 14 straight matchups with Phoenix.

The Suns allow the fifth-most points and the 13th-most assists to point guards this season. On Tuesday, we watched De’Aaron Fox score 33 points while handing out 6 assists.

Alternative Bet: McCollum OVER 14.5 Points, OVER 3.5 Assists (-116, ESPN Bet)
