Devin Booker, Bradley Beal Won't Play vs Lakers

The Phoenix Suns won't be with Bradley Beal and Devin Booker when they play the Los Angeles Lakers.

PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns wrap up a short two-game road trip when they face the Los Angeles Lakers tonight. After previously defeating the Golden State Warriors on opening night, the team hopes to emerge to 2-0 ahead of their Saturday night home opener.

They'll have to do so without the talents of Devin Booker (foot soreness) and Bradley Beal (lower back tightness). Both were previously listed as doubtful heading into today, and now The Athletic's Shams Charania is reporting the two stars won't play.

Booker played on Tuesday night while Beal hasn't played since preseason action.

The Suns could potentially roll out a starting lineup of:

Eric Gordon, Grayson Allen, Josh Okogie, Kevin Durant, Jusuf Nurkic

Allen missed all six of his shot attempts while Gordon shot just 4-16 from the field.

In our game preview for today, our own Kevin Hicks suggested a few names that could emerge from the absence of stars in Phoenix:

"This development might force coach Frank Vogel to lean deeper into the rotation, playing DNP's from Tuesday night, particularly Chimezie Metu and Keita Bates-Diop. Saben Lee also could possibly see some time, although that proposition is more in the air."

Lakers Injury Report:

PROBABLE: Cam Reddish (right foot soreness)

OUT: Jalen Hood-Schifino (right patella contusion) and Jarred Vanderbilt (left heel bursitis)

The two sides will meet at 7:00 PM Arizona time tonight.
