Suns SG Devin Booker Reacts to Win vs Warriors

Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker already looks as if he's in midseason form.

PHOENIX -- Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker was - to no surprise - the main cog in his team's 108-104 victory over the Golden State Warriors

Booker already looked as if he was in midseason form in Game 1 of 82, leading all players with 32 points to go alongside six rebounds, eight assists and one steal.

On a completely different roster and without star guard Bradley Beal, the Suns managed to snag a crucial win on the road against a Warriors team plenty expect to contend for a deep postseason run down the road.

"Just figuring it out right now. That's the phase that we're in. We understand that after a good first half they're not giving in. They were champs two years ago," Booker told TNT following the game.

"They're a really good team, usually a third quarter team so they came out and gave us another punch. We kept fighting through it."

The Suns initially led by 15 points heading into halftime, though Golden State fought back and eventually took the lead in the third quarter.

With one period to play, the Warriors led 86-80.

The next 12 minutes saw Booker and co. gain control of the game, and despite the Warriors going blow-for-blow with Phoenix down to the wire, the Suns were able to hang on to the win thanks to three assists from Booker in the final 1:09.

"Trying to be aggressive, we had it going in the first half. So I knew they were gonna throw some different defenses at me and we have guys that can make them pay every time," said Booker.

"We have experience on this team top to bottom. From coaching staff to players, we have guys with championship experience, so I'm leaning on them for a lot too. It's our first game together, we still have a lot to do, a lot to grow, but we're in pretty good shape right now."

The Suns look to gain another road win on Thursday when the Los Angeles Lakers play host.
