Suns Reveal Starters vs Kings

Suns head coach Frank Vogel opted to utilize this group as his starting unit.

PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns look to extend their winning streak to three games tonight as they take on the Sacramento Kings, and their starting five is nothing out of the usual since Phoenix's big three reached full health and started playing together with consistency:

Devin Booker
Bradley Beal
Grayson Allen
Kevin Durant
Jusuf Nurkic

Tonight will mark the fifth consecutive time Phoenix's big three of Beal/Booker/Durant has been able to suit up together while Allen and Nurkic remain stalwarts in the rotation - both have started every game they've played in this season.

While the Suns have continued to take steps towards being the team fans expected them to be coming into the season, there's still work to be done.

Beal was on "Suns Live" following the closer-than-expected victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night and was asked by host Tim Ring if he was happy with the way the squad played.

His response was telling.

"Nah, I think we took a step back and we all know that," Beal said.

"We didn't come out with energy, we weren't focused, we didn't do any of our defensive assignments out the gate..."

If Sunday was a letdown, tonight is another opportunity for the star-studded core to get right again while also playing quality competition.

The Suns sit at 21-18 and have a big week ahead: three teams Phoenix plays in the next eight days are only two games ahead in the standings.

Phoenix has already ruled out Bol Bol due to a foot sprain, so Nurkic may be called to play more minutes than usual tonight. Damion Lee remains out since pre-season due to meniscus surgery while Yuta Watanabe was ruled out just ahead of action due to illness.

Kings head man Mike Brown is likely to opt for his usual starting unit in De'Aaron Fox, Kevin Huerter, Harrison Barnes, Keegan Murray and Domantas Sabonis.

"We just didn't play well in either game," Vogel said on their prior run-ins with Sacramento.

"We'll see. This is a tough team. They were one of the best teams in the league last year, they were the No. 1 offense in the league last year. ... They've got a lot of firepower and a lot of continuity."

Suns-Kings is set to tip off shortly after 7:00 PM Arizona time. The game will be broadcast locally on AZ Family and will be available on NBA League Pass.
