First Suns-Lakers Regular Season Meeting Revealed

The Phoenix Suns will be on the road against the Los Angeles Lakers for their second game of the season.

Leaks are slowly coming in for the 2023-24 NBA schedule, and to nobody's surprise, the Phoenix Suns are involved in a handful of key games for the upcoming slate.

The Suns will be playing in the league's opening night festivities against the Golden State Warriors, according to NBA insider Shams Charania. The Los Angeles Lakers will be on the road to battle the Denver Nuggets that night on Oct. 24, too.

To no shock, the Suns will also be playing on Christmas Day, as they'll host the Dallas Mavericks

While we await for the full schedule to be released, which could come as soon as next week, Charania also reported the Suns would be facing the Lakers on Oct. 26, just two nights after Phoenix plays Golden State on opening night.

This will be the first time LeBron James and Kevin Durant have played each other since 2018, where James was in his first season with the Lakers and Durant was in Golden State. Durant never played against James while he was a member of the Brooklyn Nets

Had the Suns defeated Denver, they would have played Los Angeles in the Western Conference Finals last postseason. The Lakers were swept 4-0 by the Nuggets, who went on to win their first NBA Finals.

Phoenix hopes to replicate that same storyline this season, though the Lakers would love to stop their Pacific division rivals and claim yet another banner to hang in Crypto.com Arena.
