Former Suns PF Jae Crowder Shocked by Lack of Playing Time With Bucks

Former Phoenix Suns power forward Jae Crowder says he was shocked by his lack of usage by the Milwaukee Bucks.

Former Phoenix Suns forward Jae Crowder got what he wanted.

Crowder sat out the entire regular season until the Suns eventually worked out a trade to move him elsewhere. Despite a few subliminal tweets, Crowder was relatively quiet until after being moved.

The two sides tell different stories, but Phoenix reportedly told Crowder he would be pushed to the bench (behind Cam Johnson) after helping the Suns the previous two seasons as a starter.

Crowder - who also was reportedly looking for a contract extension - wasn't too pleased, and it was announced by the team prior to training camp that the two sides mutually agreed to his absence.

He eventually landed with the Milwaukee Bucks after first being dealt to the Brooklyn Nets in the deal that needed Phoenix the talents of Kevin Durant.

Crowder averaged nearly 19 minutes per game during the regular season, fitting in as a role player that Milwaukee could count on. In the final four games of the season, Crowder averaged 18.6 points.

Yet the postseason told a different story, as Crowder averaged just ten minutes of action in three games. The Bucks were upset in major fashion by the Miami Heat in just five games, and now Crowder will be watching the Suns advance from home.

“I’ve never been in a situation like that,” Crowder said via Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “Eleven years. Check my résumé. I’ve been playing. I’ve always been playing. I’m very confused as to why I was brought here. I don’t know my purpose here and why I was brought here.”

Crowder had scoring performances of two, zero and five in his postseason cameos.
