Wolves Re-Signing Former Suns Player
PHOENIX -- The Minnesota Timberwolves are reportedly signing former Phoenix Suns forward T.J. Warren to a second ten-day contract, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.
"TJ Warren is signing a second 10-day contract with the Timberwolves, sources said. Warren has averaged nearly five points in 16 minutes a game over four contests for Minnesota," Charania reported on Twitter/X.
Warren said earlier in the season he was looking to make a comeback to the NBA after dealing with injuries, and it looks like he'll get a second shot with Minnesota, who are 45-21 and just 1.5 games back from the West's top seed.
Wolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns recently had surgery to repair his left meniscus and will be out indefinitely moving forward.
Warren initially joined Minnesota in early March on his first ten-day deal. He did not play anywhere in 2023 prior thanks to injuries. He is 30-years-old as the postseason nears.
Warren first entered the NBA with the Suns back in 2014-15 and played for them as recently as last season. He was a piece of the blockbuster trade with the Brooklyn Nets that landed Kevin Durant in Phoenix.
He appeared in 16 games for the Suns after arriving at the trade deadline.
