Suns 'Confident' They Can Land Miles Bridges

PHNX is reporting the Phoenix Suns are confident they can pull off a deal for Miles Bridges.

PHOENIX -- Trade season is officially here in the NBA as the league's Feb. 8 deadline continues to approach, and the Phoenix Suns are certainly looking to get their hands dirty.

There's a handful of names floating around, though one player particularly has caused quite the stir in Suns discussions: Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges.

We won't dive deep into Bridges' controversial track record (if you are unaware, here's his wiki page) though it is noteworthy that plenty of Suns fans are uncomfortable with the potential move for the 25-year-old.

As for the organization, Phoenix appears to be pursuing Bridges, and according to PHNX, they're fairly confident they can acquire him:

"As first reported on the PHNX Suns Podcast and then again in PHNX’s massive trade scenarios article earlier this week, the Suns’ interest in Miles Bridges is very real. It’s since been confirmed by multiple other outlets, and where there’s this much smoke, there’s typically fire," wrote Gerald Bourguet.

"The question is whether Phoenix is ready to be burned by the inevitable PR nightmare that comes with trading for a player who’s been charged with felony domestic violence and child abuse.

"A source close to the situation described the Suns as feeling very confident they’d be able to get a deal for Bridges across the finish line. Financially speaking, Bridges’ $7.9 million contract would be easy to match by sending Charlotte a combination of Nassir Little’s $6.3 million salary and a veteran minimum player like Chimezie Metu ($2.3 million), Yuta Watanabe ($2.3 million) or Bol Bol ($2.2 million)."

The Suns are currently 26-19 on the season, good enough for the No. 6 seed in the West.
