Devin Booker Excited to Play With Kevin Durant

Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker shared that he thought he would play with Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges, and Jae Crowder his whole career, but he is excited to play with Kevin Durant.

Last week the Phoenix Suns were able to steal the stage from Super Bowl week when it was announced that they came to terms with the Brooklyn Nets to acquire two-time NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant and TJ Warren. In return, the Nets received Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, four first-round picks, and a 2028 pick swap.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski initially reported the deal, bringing Olympic teammates Durant and Devin Booker together. The two won a Gold Medal during the 2020/21 Olympics.

After the Suns game with the Hawks last Thursday night, Booker was asked about the trade and opportunity to play with Durant by the Arizona Republic's Duane Rankin.

As for the trade that sent his former teammates to Brooklyn, Booker said, "It's bittersweet. They are guys that I envision playing my whole career with, and it's tough. But what makes it a little easier is that they are together. Mikal Bridges is back on the east coast closer to family, and that's the beauty of it.

"But on the other page, you have one of the best players ever to touch a basketball. So, it's exciting times for the Phoenix Suns."

The next game for the Phoenix Suns is on Valentine's Day with a home date against Sacramento Kings.

Durant is expected to have his introductory press conference on Thursday, though he isn't expected to take the court until the All-Star break is over after spraining his MCL back in early January.
