Cam Johnson Close to Returning

Phoenix Suns forward Cam Johnson is ramping up his recovery and his close to returning.

Phoenix Suns forward Cam Johnson hasn't played since Nov. 4, tearing his right meniscus and having worked towards a long road of recovery.

The Suns, now also down Devin Booker (groin) at least for the next four weeks, need all the help they can get in their attempt to stay near the top of the West.

It appears as if help is coming soon.

The Arizona Republic's Duane Rankin posted some footage of Johnson running prior to Phoenix's game in Toronto on Friday.

It's been an interesting year to say the least for Johnson, who filled the starting spot for Jae Crowder and entered the season looking for a contract extension but didn't strike a deal with Phoenix.

The upcoming offseason will make him a restricted free agent, a process many Suns fans are now familiar with thanks to Deandre Ayton.

Johnson's play, though early in the season, didn't exactly impress fans. He averaged 13 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists per night.

He hopes to return to a Suns team that has now lost their last five-of-six games to finish 2022. Phoenix hopes Johnson and the rest of the squad can gain full health heading into the postseason.

Johnson is rumored to be returning after the Suns arrive in town from their current road trip, which could be on Jan. 6 against the Miami Heat
