Report: Kevin Durant Requests Trade
The script continues to flip on nearly a daily basis for Phoenix Suns fans, but the latest turn of events brings good news for landing a superstar.
The Athletic's Shams Charania reported on Thursday Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant requested a trade out of the team.
The trade request comes just days after a back-and-forth between the Nets and Kyrie Irving. After Irving officially announced he would be entering his player option with Brooklyn, expectations surrounding Durant to stay became reasonable.
Yet despite Irving's commitment to Brooklyn next season, Durant has made his intentions clear for the future.
Now, the Suns have a unique opportunity to land Durant, who has spoke very highly of people such as Monty Williams and Devin Booker in the past.

“He knows how to talk to people, for one. He knows how to communicate and he’s honest,” Durant said on Williams' coaching style.
“That’s lacking in our world in general. It’s just truth. Especially when you’re talking to him on the basketball court, you have a group of guys that will get better. He has a young core that is hungry to get better and is hungry to have some success.”

"I just think he’s really mastering who he is right now. He’s figuring it out, like how to play at an elite level and still win. He’s always scoring the ball but he knows how to win," Durant said of Booker earlier this year.
The Suns have also been heavy favorites by some oddsmakers to land Durant if he were to be traded.
Time will tell if the Suns will actually pull off a deal for the superstar forward, but the constant cycling of news in Brooklyn appears to have reached a favorable conclusion for Phoenix.
