PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns are seeking win number 43 on the season this evening against the San Antonio Spurs.

Phoenix is actively seeking to extend the current win streak they are riding to four games - they haven't lost a contest in over a week. This is a prime opportunity to capitalize against the reeling Spurs that will also be sans Victor Wembanyama tonight.

This game will likely go a long way towards deciding where the Suns fall in the standings, as the Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks will square off against each other twice this week, while the New Orleans Pelicans face a brutal week ahead themselves.

All the aforementioned teams are close to Phoenix in the Western Conference standings.

What do the Suns need to do to ensure victory?

The answer is clear.

Phoenix needs to assert dominance early once again and the most clear-cut way to make that a reality is high three-point volume.

San Antonio will already be without Wembanyama as aforementioned - his absence will leave a clear void in the Spurs' defense at large, but it will almost certainly open up more space for Grayson Allen and Eric Gordon, among other sharpshooters on the roster.

The Suns had the upper hand in nearly every aspect of the "math" game despite lower three-point volume. If Phoenix gets up 41 three-point attempts in tonight's game like they did on Thursday night against the Atlanta Hawks, they will be likely to hit around half of those attempts.

The high volume three-point mindset will ultimately be beneficial in the run-up to the most vital playoff run in franchise history.
