Phoenix Suns v San Antonio Spurs

Quick Preview: Spurs Host Suns

The Phoenix Suns are looking for win number 43 this season.

PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns (42-29) are finishing up the season series against the San Antonio Spurs (15-56) tonight at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio.

The Suns defeated San Antonio on Saturday night in a game in which they lead wire-to-wire and are looking to secure another vital victory before a brutal final 10 game slate to close out the regular season.

Spurs star Victor Wembanyama is officially out for the game with an ankle sprain, while the Suns are the healthiest they have been all season - only Damion Lee is listed as out for the contest as he continues to recover from meniscus surgery.

The main thing to watch going into this game is the Suns and their pursuit of putting together a second consecutive complete performance regardless of the competition.

Devin Booker has stressed all season the Suns absolutely cannot take any opponent lightly - they all employ capable NBA players regardless of team success in a vacuum - and that point couldn't be more resonant than it is now.

Phoenix is in the optimal position to correct the early season losses to the Spurs at home that are now hurting them in the race to get a top-six seed. If the Suns win both games against San Antonio in October they aren't sitting as a borderline play-in team

Prediction: Suns Win

The Suns exercise their season-long demons and continue the stretch of consistent basketball tonight, even with Wembanyama out.

Phoenix will go into a trio of pivotal road games against the Denver Nuggets, Oklahoma City Thunder, and New Orleans Pelicans next with ample amounts of positive momentum.
