The Phoenix Suns are now 42-29 following a triumphant 131-106 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in which the Suns lead wire-to-wire.

Phoenix built up an 18-point lead by halftime and expanded it to 32 by the end of the third frame - Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich had little reason to play rookie star Victor Wembanyama more than 20 minutes.

Yes, the Spurs are in the midst of yet another rough campaign - they have a pedestrian 15 victories on the season - but the Suns leaving little doubt about the outcome of the game should be continuing to restore confidence in the fan base, if only piece-by-piece

This was also yet another exemplary performance from a bench that has caught much malign from fans this season as three players hit double figures. Phoenix's reserves pitched in 47 points as a whole.

The most glaring takeaway from the game may just be the apparent resurgence of Eric Gordon - a key contributor who has had some quite conspicouous ups-and-downs this season.

Gordon has now hit double figures scoring in four of the last five games and has hit eight of his last 11 attempts from three-point range over the last two games.

Gordon was already likely locked into coach Frank Vogel's playoff rotation, but this recent string of games should instill more confidence into all parties involved.

The Suns' sharpshooter has been a key contributor on many top-level contenders over the years - and his expereince coupled with more consistent play should quell concerns with him - for the moment, at least.
