Two Former Suns Favorites Ready to Help Team USA Basketball

Former Phoenix Suns players Cam Johnson and Mikal Bridges will be representing the United States in the upcoming FIBA World Cup.

USA Basketball is ready to compete in the upcoming 2023 FIBA World Cup, and two familiar faces for the Phoenix Suns will be donning the red, white and blue in an attempt to reclaim their title after Spain won 2019's rendition.

Cam Johnson and Mikal Bridges are part of a 12 man squad that hopes to see the USA capture their third title in four tournaments:

Both Bridges and Johnson were dealt to the Brooklyn Nets at the trade deadline in a massive haul that netted Phoenix the talents of Kevin Durant. Both players established themselves as fan favorites before settling into their new home.

Johnson recently inked a massive four-year, $108 million deal to stay with Brooklyn after initially being a restricted free agent while Bridges took his scoring to new heights previously unseen in Phoenix.

Training camp began yesterday for the squad:

The United States - sitting in Group C - will have the following schedule to open the tournament:

Saturday Aug. 26 vs. New Zealand

Monday Aug. 28 vs. Greece

Wednesday Aug. 30 vs. Jordan
