Nuggets Confirm Nikola Jokic's Status vs Suns

The Denver Nuggets initially listed Nikola Jokic as probable on the injury report.

PHOENIX -- The Denver Nuggets will have center Nikola Jokic available tonight against the Phoenix Suns. He was probable with lower back pain and hip issues.

Jokic - set to earn another MVP notch under his belt - has been a large part of Denver's 51-21 record thus far, good enough for tops in the West. They hold a slight advantage over the Oklahoma City Thunder as the regular season begins to wind down.

This season, Jokic is averaging 26.1 points per game with 12.3 rebounds and nine assists to pair.

Jokic's ability to perform at a high level is only matched by his health, as only Michael Porter Jr.'s 71 games have Jokic's 69 contests beat this year for Denver. Jokic's 34.4 minutes per night does lead the team, however.

The Nuggets approach tonight in good form having won their last nine-of-ten as Phoenix arrives to town. They've lost just twice since the All-Star break, one of which came to the Suns back on March 5 in a 117-107 overtime loss in Denver.

Phoenix themselves come to the Mile High City off a massively disappointing loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Monday, who were without Victor Wembanyama. The Suns are 42-20 with the West's No. 8 seed in hand.

Opening tip tonight is slated for just past 7:00 PM Arizona time.
