Phoenix Suns v Denver Nuggets

Suns Have Opportunity vs Nuggets

The Suns need to put things together tonight against Denver.

The Phoenix Suns need to find magic in a bottle much like they did three weeks ago when they recorded an unexpected victory on the road against the Denver Nuggets.

Now, they need it more than ever.

As if things could look more bleak, the Dallas Mavericks' victory over the Sacramento Kings last night effectively gives Dallas a two-game lead over Phoenix while also setting up a crucial Game 81 of the season in Sacramento in two weeks for the Suns.

Then there's the L.A. Lakers.

The Lakers managed to pull off a comeback against the Milwaukee Bucks last night in a game which they trailed by double figures in the fourth quarter.

A Lakers' win over the Memphis Grizzlies tonight coupled with a Suns' loss would put Phoenix in imminent danger of falling to the 9 seed in the West - a spot in which they would have to win two games just to get into the playoffs.

So this game is vital - as is the one in Oklahoma City on Friday.

The discourse for the rest of the season comes down to what the Suns can do to shock the NBA world and reign victorious for the second time in Denver this season.

If the Suns truly commit to the two-man game between Kevin Durant and Devin Booker - much akin to the playoff series against Denver last season - they will have a strong chance to quell concerns that have been running rampant from the fanbase, national media, and NBA social media.

A Suns victory won't completely atone for the inexcusable loss to the San Antonio Spurs earlier in the week, but it would go a long way towards putting the squad on the right track once again following hitting a low point in the season almost instantaneously after hitting a high point.
