Consensus Mock Draft Targets for OKC Thunder at No. 12

Oklahoma City knows where they will be drafting the next young prospect to enter the organization, but there are different thoughts of who that prospect will be.

With the lottery decided and Oklahoma City locked in the 12th spot of the draft, it’s the time of the off-season where mock drafts ramp up and the targets of each team dwindles down to a select few prospects.

For Oklahoma City the list of prospects includes a mix of bigs, guards and wings from a variety of different outlets.

Leonard Miller is a popular pick for OKC through different mock drafts. Both the Ringer and The Athletic’s most recent mocks have Sam Presti leaning toward the G League Ignite product.

Miller is among the youngest prospects in the draft and provides immense upside with his length and solid pete meter shooting abilities. A learning curve should be expected though as he transitions to professional basketball.

Another player who is sent to OKC from two different outlets is Cason Wallace. Wallace, who is mocked to the Thunder from ESPN and Bleacher Report.

Wallace is a strong guard with a high ceiling out of Kentucky. He’ll still be 19-years-old at the time of the draft with a great basketball IQ as a lead guard.

Fresh off a national championship, Jordan Hawkins is looking to be the next former UConn athlete to make waves in the NBA.

Both Yahoo Sports and Kyle Boone of CBS have OKC selecting the talented 6-foot-5 shooting guard. Hawkins would add impressive depth to an already talented room of guards in OKC.

Other names that were linked to the Thunder via other mock drafts include Ohio State’s Brice Sensabaugh (For the Win), UCF forward Taylor Hendricks (CBS-Garry Parrish) and Baylor guard Keynote George (SB Nation).

It’s possible OKC could get its choice of these prospects when the No. 12 pick roles around, though it is possible they are off the board entirely. One thing is for certain though, while mock drafts may have different ideas on the future of OKC, they will get their choice of talented prospects at a variety of different positions.
