NBA Legend Shaquille O'Neal Tabs Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as NBA MVP

The OKC Thunder have seen Shai Gilgeous-Alexander play at a superstar level this season, and NBA Veteran Shaquille O'Neal has tabbed him as the MVP of the NBA.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (46-20) have consistently been one of the best teams in the NBA. In large part due to their superstar guard playing at an MVP level.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is currently averaging 31.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 6.4 assists and three stocks per game. He should be considered the frontrunner for the Most Valuable Player Award right now as the Thunder rest atop the Western Conference.

Though, this is going to be a tight race with many players running a solid campaign right now. NBA Legend Shaquille O'Neal made his opinion known on the matter on Thursday night.

"[Shai Gilgeous-Alexander] is my MVP right now, he fits both of our criteria. He is the baddest mofo shut your mouth man in the league and his team is winning. My criteria and your criteria, he is definitely my MVP," O'Neal said on TNT prior to tip-off of Thursday's game against the Dallas Mavericks.

The debate for the Most Valuable Player award will rage on but eventually might settle into who finishes as the first seed in the Western Conference as Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic battle for position.

Up next, the Oklahoma City Thunder travel to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies as the Bricktown boys attempt to gain some separation in the standings. Gilgeous-Alexander will look to continue his MVP campaign against his lowly Memphis foes.
