Oklahoma City Thunder Sign Former Nuggets' Two-Way Forward to Standard Contract

The Oklahoma CIty Thunder added to their active roster on Saturday by signing Jack White, a former Nuggets forward and Duke alum, to a two-year deal.

As reported by Shams Charania of the Athletic on Saturday, the Oklahoma City Thunder agreed to sign Australian forward Jack White to a standard two-year contract. Further details regarding the contract have yet to be released. White joins the Thunder’s roster after competing on a two-way contract for the Denver Nuggets last season.

Prior to the beginning of his career in the NBA, White spent four years at Duke University, playing alongside Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett, and Cam Reddish in his junior season before declaring for the 2020 NBA Draft, where he went undrafted. Afterwards, White took his talents back to Australia, playing for the Melbourne United, before the Nuggets scooped him up in the summer of 2022.

Last season, the 6-foot-7 forward split his time, playing 17 games for the Nuggets and 14 games for the G League affiliate, the Grand Rapids Gold.

In his limited time with the Nuggets, White spent just a total of 66 minutes on the floor and produced just eight made field goals.

For the Gold, White received significantly more playing time and averaged 20.9 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 33.6 minutes per game while shooting 54.4% from the field, 40.9% from behind the 3-point line, and 73.7% from the charity stripe. In addition, White also notched a solid 1.4 steal percentage and 2.1 block percentage.

The addition of White brings the Thunder’s active roster to a total of 18 players. Oklahoma City’s front office will have to decide on who to waive, or trade, to reduce that number to 15 players before the beginning of regular season play.
