Wolves set for highest-grossing game ever Thursday against Lakers

Minnesota has seen the three largest retail nights in Target Center history this season.

The Timberwolves’ game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday will be their highest-grossing game of all-time, Timberwolves chief operating officer Ryan Tanke said during an appearance on Fox 9.

Tanke also told Fox 9 that the three largest retail nights in the history of Target Center have all come this season.

That should come as no surprise as the Timberwolves tout an NBA-best 20-5 record, with 11 of those wins coming on the Target Center court. Minnesota is 11-1 in downtown Minneapolis.

All 12 of the Timberwolves' games this season have been sellouts, their best mark ever to start a season. Minnesota had 23 sellouts last season and 16 during the 2021-22 campaign.

Thursday's game against LeBron James and the Lakers will be the second night of a back to back after Minnesota faces Joel Embiid and the 76ers in Philadelphia on Wednesday night.
