Anthony Davis' Injury Status for Lakers vs Warriors Game 2 Revealed

Anthony Davis is the most important player on the floor.

Anthony Davis may not be the best player on the floor in a series with both LeBron James and Steph Curry, but he's clearly the most important. For that reason alone, his ability to be on the floor, and healthy, is always major.

The Los Angeles Lakers have officially listed Anthony Davis as probable with a right foot stress injury. Davis has been listed as probable for nearly all playoffs with this injury, so fans should expect him to play.

Davis was an absolute monster in Game 1. He put up 30 points, 23 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 blocks on 58% shooting. It was a stat the NBA hasn't seen since Shaq played, which is always historical. Historically, Anthony Davis isn't a better player than LeBron James or Steph Curry, but in Game 1, he was clearly a better player than both of them.

The ability of Davis to command the paint defensively caused the Warriors to retreat from the paint offensively. The Golden Warriors shot 53 threes in Game 1, and it was a huge reason why they only shot 6 free throws compared to the Lakers shooting 29 free throws. While the three-point barrage was a huge reason why the Warriors went on a 14-0 run, it was also the reason why they were down 14 points, to begin with.

If the Golden State Warriors want to survive Game 2, they'll need to figure out a way to have a more varied offense.
